Patrol, that was what he did when the Queen wanted to scare a area of Narnia. What was more terrifying than a frost dragon soaring above? His roar echoing through the hills. Tavrinth chuckled as he landed on a clear hill and rested for a moment. He hoped the secret police hadn't beaten him to the fun this time. He felt rather dismal today, he had a hard time finding treasure in Narnia, Most kept their valuables far to close for a Dragon to spot.
Tavrinth roared into the air and lifted off again resuming his patrol. Rumors of rebellion had been heard in this area, and he was here to remind them the power of the Witch. He sneered, the woman who brought winter here was a friend to him, and if the cost of having eternal winter was to ally with the wretched woman then he would pay that price, not to mention it gave him a cozy position, as not many were above a dragon when it came to the ranks of her servants.
Then Tavrinth noticed movement, something was in the distance and that intrigued him, most things stayed still and hid when he was about. What was brave enough to travel with a dragon about. That was what he sought to discover. After all if nothing else, It was a snack, he did need food and if it was something tasty then he couldn't help but indulge.

Twelve strong, the pack pushed on through the snow drift, cresting a hill Luna stopped them to survey the lands beneath. Above and ahead of them Tavrinth soared the skies. Luna watched him with her good eye, a low growl rumbling in her heart.
"Why are we here, if he's here?" complained one of the welps.
"Because the Queen commanded it."
"Because the Queen commanded it." Came his mocking reply "If she commanded us to jump from a cliff would you?"
Luna turned to stare at him, her heckles rising on her back. Sensing a fight the others lowered themselves in submission. The pup held her gaze, but only for a moment before he to dropped to his stomach and whimpered. "Yes." she said taking her gaze from him "I would. And so would you, or you'd die."
He wouldn't be so lucky to die at her hands, Luna would kill him herself. "Flush them into them open." she snapped "Kill only if you have too. We're here to take prisoners." Snapping and snarling they raced forward, with Luna at their point.

Watch the skies, traveller...Low-hanging clouds swirled around a distant patch of treetops, disturbed by a dragon's passage. Stormwall squinted against snow-glare. The Witch had no end of allies, it seemed. A raven from the northwest had said a dragon was on the wing, but in a time and a land where incredulity served as a common survival strategy, Stormwall hadn't entirely believed him. The raven had been looking for shelter, desperate for warmth. This little village had taken him in, him and Stormwall both, for the night. Now it seemed the raven wasn't senile, and the sheltered village was not prepared. Not that anything could prepare them for this. The village -- even that humble name was a little too grandiose. Six homes dug into the walls of a gulley, each home to a family of badgers or dwarves. Not fast people. Even if he lowered himself to be ridden, he could only carry two, perhaps three. Word spread quickly. The dwarves and the badgers opted to burrow deeper, bar up their doors, and ride it out. Stormwall, who barely fit in their burrows even hunched over, didn't especially find the idea viable, but nor did he enjoy the thought of trying to outrun a dragon. So he, too, stayed inside. Forest surrounded the gulley. Maybe the dragon wouldn't attempt to land; maybe it wasn't even headed here. Maybe. Feth...tavrinth Luna

The damn wolves were here, great he thought as he glided over them with a roar to try to intimidate them before dropping down right in front of them.
"What brings you to these parts, was I deemed not enough?"
He furrowed his brow and brought his best intimidating stance standing upright looking down on them.
"Unless perhaps you are here to watch me, the queen afraid I will take liberties with our prey?"
He asked as he grinned, letting his many teeth show just how sharp they were.
"Very well, don't get in my way and I will stay out of yours, unless there is something of importance to discuss I do believe I have some rebels to spook. "

Luna growled at the dragon, coming to a stop. "Check your ego, Tavrinth!" she snapped as the pack paced and snarled behind her. "We're here to flush them out for you. Your fat scaly backside can't exactly fit in their burrows now, can it?" There was a rumble of laughter from her pack. "That said," she approached him without fear "Maybe I am here to watch you." She sneered at him. "My orders are my own. You keep to yours, and I'll keep to mine and we'll get along just fine." Turning away from him she barked once more at the pack. "Move out!" They did, looping round the dragons great form. Luna fixed him with a hateful stare before following suit. She howled, and the pack joined in, carrying word of their coming to those lying in wait in the gulley ahead. tavrinth Stormwall

tavrinth LunaA full pack howl percolated through the door, and the hunched centaur glanced back -- with difficulty -- at his hosts. "You can wait out a dragon. You can't wait out the secret police, not in burrows." "We have a tunnel, friend," said one of the Black Dwarves, engrossed in bundling a young badger. "It comes up some ways to the south, in a heavy copse, with trees around. If this turns for the worst, our young at least can get out that way. We haven't used it since we built it; there shouldn't be a scent." There was, of course, no chance at all that the tunnel would be centaur-sized. No good options. Not that he minded being the rearguard, and these badgers and dwarves had a couple of fighters among them... But a full pack of secret police, and a dragon. A fething dragon. "Alright, pass the word," said Stormwall. "No-one bolts, not aboveground. If they're here to see us, they'll see us -- they'll see me. If they mean to pass by, or if they've got other prey..."

Tavrinth chuckled loudly as she gave him that hateful stare and let them pass, only to beat his wings and surely cause them to at least stagger as he took to the air once more right as they passed him. "Yes.. flush them out, I will capture any runners." He roared loudly as he circled the gulley. Waiting for the wolves to make their move, they had a point, he wouldn't do well if they stayed inside but he had ways if it came to it. He wasn't helpless after all. He sighed and glided about in a circle, no use exhausting himself if he didn't have to.
The problem with wolves is they didn't leave much for him. Tavrinth also knew that he could at least do this much He breathed down at one side of the gulley leaving a wall of ice, and then he waited for the wolves to do their business and then he would have a little fun. He couldn't wait to hear the screams.

The wind made some stagger, knocked other to their feet, but as Luna took point once more, they scrambled up and followed her into the gulley, Luna watched as one side became a sheet of ice, impossible for anyone to make an escape up. They could make a good team, she and Tavrinth, if only their egos would allow it.
The pack lined up outside the homes and Luna paced before them. "Good beasts of Narnia, you have two choices. Come quietly or die." Smells assaulted her nose, she picked up the scent of the centaur and laughed. Centaurs were known traitors to the Queen of Narnia. No one responded to them.
"DIG THEM OUT!" she yelled.

tavrinth LunaSix dugout homes, three on each side of the gulley. Behind a middle door and a sheet of new ice, a centaur clutched his long-knives in impotent rage. Wolf-paws scrabbled audibly at the ice, and at the earth around the three doors on the other side of the gulley. A couple of hardbitten dwarves cursed vigorously. "Frost dragon," said a badger, voice grim. "Small mercy: he won't breathe again while the wolves do their work." "It sounded like this side took the brunt of his breath." Stormwall's knives rasped against each other, a nervous habit. Each was broad, curved, and as long as his forearm -- far better than sling or longsword in a place as constrained as the gulley. Worthless against a dragon. "The secret police will get into the three burrows on the other side while we're trapped in here, but they're occupied. Now's your chance, maybe your only chance, to get your young out through the tunnel. Keep your numbers low and for Aslan's sake keep them quiet. Even if that copse is thick around the hidden exit, this kind of strafing run is meant to flush us out; the dragon or some wolf outriders will be watching for this exact thing. How connected are your homes?" A Black Dwarf scratched his nose with a battleaxe. "Each side's connected, two sets of three." "All right, let's listen close. Bring in all this side's fighters, right in here behind me. Soon as the wolves get through the other side, and we'll hear that for sure, I'll take down this middle door, ice and all, and we'll give the wolves the hammer-and-anvil treatment. Live together, die alone."

It was a dragon and Tavrinth roared to put fear in the hearts of the Narnians. He flew close, making the ground shake as he pulled up just before he had to and swooped back into the skies. He widened his search, knowing they probably had some way to escape. It seemed every damn burrow had at least one escape tunnel.
The slow calculating beat of his wings as he glided in a large circle around the gulley looking for an escape tunnel. That was when he decided to give the wolves some fun. He swooped in and breathed again, his breath creating another sheer wall of ice on the other end of the gulley, there was no way out now and he chuckled as he kept an eye out and wondered what old Luna would do about that.

"What is he doing?!" Growled her second in command as he came to her side, eyeing the sheet of glass that cut off their only exit. "It's part of the plan." She lied. Couldn't have the narnians overhearing that the two forces weren't cooperating. As it became close to breaking through the uniced homes, Luna snapped at the heels of her pack, leaving only three to dig. The others stood to one side facing the fresh sheet of ice. All six homes within their sight. A door crumbled and the three wolves set themselves upon their prey while the rest waited. Stormwall tavrinth

tavrinth LunaThe burrow offered little room to rear back -- none, in fact. He crouched even farther than he had, managed to get his forehooves against the door, and gave it a shove. Ice and wood cracked, and bitter cold air swept in. A handful of badgers and armed dwarves pressed out from the door behind him. As he rose from his long crouch, his longknives found the nearest wolf of the three. The locals, from both sides, put down the other two in moments. The situation unfolded to his mind's eye in an uncomfortable moment. There were the wolves, the rest of them, on the flank with every advantage of timing and position. A couple of the locals stood ready in that direction, but not many. He ached to draw his longsword, but the gulley was narrow enough and the locals dense enough to make the blade a bad idea. The curved longknives would have to do, and he'd just have to trust the badgers and dwarves to guard his heels. The vital thing was to- "CHAAAARGE!" -before the dragon could take advantage of them being separate from the wolves.

Tavrinth stayed above, curious what would happen now that it seemed the wolves were in a fight.Three were down already, he noted as he swooped overhead. Since everything was trapped in the gulley now, he watched for the fight to occur, the Narnians charged the wolves, and were far to close for him to do anything about it. Still morale was key so he could do something about that.
Tavrinth swooped down towards the fight letting out a deep and loud roar right at the backs of the Narians. It would surely be terrifying and distracting to one not use to fighting. He would of struck but he didn't want to hit Luna, for he would never hear the end of that one if he did.

Luna held back as the pack rushed forwards, her head low taking the split seconds she had to take in the full scope of the small battle. Losing was not an option, not when they were all trapped. She launched forward, jaws calming about a badger whose blade was set to drive into someones back, she shook him viciously releasing him to crash into two more of the vermin coming to flank her. Tavrinth flew low over them ans she barked up at him "Take down the wall, you fool! Else we'll never have them!"Iron bit into her flank and she responded in kind, sinking her teeth into the wielders arm and yanking hard enough to disladge the joint. Disarmed but not dead. "Vardun!" she shouted for her second in command as she jumped over a dwarf, her hind legs kicking the back of his head and upsetting his balance. An arrow whistled over her head as she hit the ground, skidding slightly as Vardun appeared at her side, head low, eyes fixed on the centaur. "Chann!" she called to the welp who'd spoken out of turn earlier. Dispatching his current foe her ran without another word for the centaur, snapping at him careful to keep out of his blades reach as Luna and Vardun moved round to flank him. tavrinth Stormwall

tavrinth LunaThe dragon's roar hit Stormwall like a slap on the back; it rushed past overhead, faster than he could make a counterattack. The Narnians' charge broke a moment before the wolves hit, and then the whole thing turned into a stinking red melee. Two wolves aimed to flank him, their attention clear even if the mess of wolves, badgers and dwarves baffled the eye and distracted him moment by moment. A third wolf rushed him, but forestalled itself and kept its distance from the long knives. A young one, that. Stormwall turned as quickly as he could manage in the scrum, putting Luna at his two o'clock and Vardun at his ten o'clock, one knife pointed at each. The whelp made for the opening, and Stormwall lashed out with an iron-shod rear hoof.
